Health care benefits take-up rate was 77 percent for private industry workers in March 2021

Health care benefits were available to 71 percent of private industry workers in March 2021, and 54 percent of workers participated in the benefit, resulting in a 77-percent take-up rate. The take-up rate is the percentage of workers with access to an employer-sponsored benefit who choose to participate in the benefit. Take-up rates varied among different industries. For example, the take-up rate in utilities was 90 percent, while leisure and hospitality was 45 percent in March 2021.
