'Insulting to victims': States vow to fight Purdue bankruptcy plan that shields Sackler family from opioid lawsuits
Several state attorneys general announced they would appeal Purdue Pharma's bankruptcy reorganization plan, approved by a federal judge on Wednesday. The plan, which Purdue values at more than $10 billion, dissolves the drugmaker and shifts assets to a new company not controlled by the Sackler family members, who will be shielded from future opioid litigation.
