Andrew Cuomo's alleged victim said what he did was a crime as lawmakers discussed impeaching him

Brittany Commisso, who was identified only as "Executive Assistant #1" in the attorney general's report that said the governor sexually harassed 11 women, came forward in an interview with CBS This Morning and the Albany Times Union, days after she filed a criminal complaint against Cuomo with the Albany County Sheriff's Office.

"What he did was a crime," she said. "He broke the law. The governor needs to be held accountable."

Meanwhile, members of New York State Assembly's Judiciary Committee met as part of the impeachment inquiry against Cuomo. Charles Lavine, a member of the state Assembly and chair of the Judiciary Committee, said Monday that he expected the impeachment investigation to conclude "very soon" — likely in several weeks — after which the committee would make a recommendation to the state Assembly on whether to draft articles of impeachment against Cuomo.

In a 31-page filing, lawyers asked US District Judge Dolly Gee, who oversees a 1997 court settlement that sets the standard for the conditions the US can detain immigrant children, to order the Biden administration to expedite the release of these minors from the four emergency shelters it currently has children in.

"Each time we visit Fort Bliss and Pecos we speak to children who have been relegated to unacceptable conditions for months," said Leecia Welch, one of the attorneys who filed the motion, in a statement. "These sites are unsafe, unsanitary, and damaging to children's physical and mental wellbeing. We hope our motion results in immediate improvements to alleviate children's suffering at these sites."

The annual Federal Duck Stamp Contest, which sees artists competing to design a stamp hunters must purchase to go after waterfowl, is a very big deal for wildlife artists — but unless you're a painter or a hunter, you might not have known about the competition. That is, until 22-year-old Kira Fennell started documenting the process on TikTok.

"It's kind of the American Idol equivalent to wildlife art competition," Fennell, who uses she/they pronouns, told BuzzFeed News. "Even though there's no direct prize. It's just super dorky, super prestigious." Fennell's first TikTok, in which they explained how the competition works, now has 2.5 million views.

Documenting her work on TikTok means a bunch of strangers are now rooting for Fennell to win. She said people who help run the contest have also reached out to thank her for spreading awareness — money from stamp sales helps fund wildlife conservation in the US.
