Jul 26, 2021 Miami board sided with building owners over safety officials more than half the time from 2010 to 2021 An NBC News investigation found that the Miami-Dade Unsafe Structures Board sided with building owners over concerned building inspectors more than half the time from 2010 to 2021. In overruling officials, the board granted building owners extra time to submit 40-year recertification reports, put off demolitions, secure permits and perform other work to bring properties up to code.
