Jul 06, 2021 Elsa strengthens into a hurricane, threatening Florida's west coast Elsa intensified into a Category 1 hurricane Tuesday night as it barreled up Florida's west coast, threatening heavy rain, flooding and high winds, the National Hurricane Center said.
