Advocates say THC does not enhance sports performance. So why is it banned?
Track and field sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson's positive marijuana test and subsequent suspension was shocking and confusing to many. The drug — tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC — is not known for increasing the athletic prowess of those who consume it. So why does the World Anti-Doping Agency include it on its list of prohibited substances?
