1619 Project's Nikole Hannah-Jones takes position at Howard University, declining UNC's offer disputed by conservatives
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones has turned down a tenure offer from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a faculty position at Howard University, a historically Black university in Washington, she announced on "CBS This Morning." UNC-Chapel Hill's board of trustees didn't initially approve her tenure after backlash from conservatives who condemned her hiring.
