Capitol riot charges dropped, Anthony Fauci's emails, fighting a bear

THE BIG STORY   A prosecutor sexually harassed women across the federal government, a watchdog agency found   According to a report from the Justice Department inspector general's office obtained by BuzzFeed News, a federal prosecutor sexually harassed multiple women he worked with over the span of several years — including an intern, a fellow prosecutor, an FBI analyst, and a postal inspector.   The assistant US attorney's name is redacted in the report. But the allegations confirmed by the inspector general's office included one instance of physical harassment — the prosecutor touched the intern's breast while reaching for a law book "and stared at her the entire time," according to the report.    The IG's office also described a wide array of "inappropriate" and "sexually charged" comments and messages the prosecutor directed toward the intern and other women he encountered in the course of his work.   The women who reported being harassed told investigators that the prosecutor's behavior interfered with their work and that they made arrangements to avoid meetings or other contact with him. Samuel Corum / Getty Images STAYING ON TOP OF THIS   The Justice Department is dropping a Capitol riot prosecution for the first time   Christopher Kelly was arrested two weeks after the insurrection and charged with obstruction of an official proceeding, which is a felony crime, and several misdemeanor counts for illegally entering the Capitol.   More than four months later, a prosecutor notified the judge in Kelly's case that the government wanted to withdraw the charges. They didn't offer details about why, only saying that it "serves the interests of justice."   This marks the first time federal prosecutors dropped one of the 450-plus cases filed against people accused of descending on the US Capitol on Jan. 6. There are two boats in this story. The passengers on one boat were allegedly harassing a family flying LGBTQ pride flags on another vessel. The occupants of the boat who were allegedly doing the harassing had to be rescued after their watercraft burst into flames.   Prince Harry is contradicting himself. An examination of interviews that Harry has given over the years shows inconsistencies and omissions in the story he is now telling the world. 100 YEARS LATER   Emotional photos show how Tulsa is marking 100 years since a massacre   Yesterday in this newsletter, we covered the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa massacre. In 1921, as many as 300 Black people were killed by a white mob, including National Guard soldiers and other members of law enforcement, during the infamous Tulsa massacre.    The violence caused the destruction of the city's Greenwood neighborhood, a prosperous area that was known at the time as Black Wall Street.   Tulsa is trying to grapple with its brutal history.
