May 20, 2021 Princes William, Harry slam revelation of lies by BBC reporter to get Princess Diana interview Princes William and Harry called for higher standards in the news media following a BBC investigation Thursday that found journalist Martin Bashir used "deceitful behavior" to secure a landmark interview with Diana, Princess of Wales, in which she revealed her husband, Prince Charles, was having an affair. The princes condemned the media's failings for contributing to the "fear, paranoia and isolation" that plagued their mother and creating a culture that "ultimately took her life."
