Blood clots are 'very rare' side effect to AstraZeneca's Covid vaccine, European drug regulator says

Unusual blood clots should be listed as "very rare" side effects of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, Europe's main drug regulator said Wednesday. Separately, the U.K. recommended people under 30 be vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna, instead of AstraZeneca, due to the small number of reported blood clots in younger people.

The announcement comes less than a month after the agency said the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was "safe and effective" and after a number of countries, including Germany, France and Italy, suspended the AstraZeneca vaccine over concerns about blood clots.
