NON-REIMBURSABLE DETAIL OPPORTUNITY

OLP is seeking an experienced attorney to serve a detail lasting six months, with a possible extension for additional six months, to assist with policy work on a wide range of criminal and civil policy issues. This position requires significant collaboration with Department components and other agencies on policy, legislation, and regulatory matters.  The detailee will be expected to take on a variety of work, including:  running working groups with representation from across the Department, developing policy recommendations, identifying consensus positions and areas of disagreement among components, drafting decision memoranda for leadership consideration, reviewing documents for consistency with Department policy and recommending changes if needed, among other tasks.  Willingness to work on topics outside a specific area of expertise is also expected. The strongest candidates will have excellent analytical skills, and an ability to navigate complex issues to build consensus.
