These states ranked the lowest in protecting children from hunger and poverty during Covid

Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas were the "worst" states for children during the pandemic, a new report found, citing issues including hunger, poverty and a lack of access to online schooling. The report, by the global nonprofit Save the Children, found that Minnesota and Utah were the states where children fared the best.

"Kids and families are suffering all across this country, but there are some communities, and some states, better equipped to navigate through it," said Shane Garver, a senior director for Save the Children.
