BREAKING: Biden administration to purchase 100M more doses of Johnson & Johnson's single-shot Covid vaccine

President Joe Biden on Wednesday will announce plans to purchase an additional 100 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine, giving the U.S. more than enough supply to vaccinate the entire population.

Biden is expected to make the announcement at a meeting with executives from Johnson & Johnson and fellow pharmaceutical giant Merck, which is helping make the single-dose vaccine, two administration officials said.

Biden said earlier this month that the U.S. was on track to have enough vaccine doses for every adult in the country to get vaccinated by the end of May.
