Asian Americans were thought to be the 'model minority' and have often needed to 'prove' racism. Then came 'receipt culture.'

Amid institutional indifference, Asian Americans are using social media and other digital tools to prove the various forms of discrimination they've long experienced, organize mutual aid groups and pressure authorities to respond.

Experts say "receipt culture," or showing evidence of a wrongdoing, typically on social media, has helped change the way people see challenges for Asian Americans, long thought of as the "model minority."
