The leader of the far-right extremist group Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, was arrested Monday by Washington, D.C., police and charged in the theft and burning of a Black Lives Matter banner last month from Asbury United Methodist Church, a historically Black congregation. Tarrio was also charged with possession of two high-capacity magazines. He was arrested after traveling to Washington, allegedly to attend a large rally calling for President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the November election to be overturned. |
