A racist video sparked soul-searching and change in a Texas suburb. Then parents fought back against diversity training.

After a video showing teenagers chanting a racist slur went viral in Southlake, Texas, the school board proposed requiring diversity training for all students.

But parents in the wealthy, mostly white suburb fought back, saying the plan amounted to "reverse racism." With support from the state GOP, they succeeded in derailing the effort, and the heated battle has some parents questioning their future in what many considered a model school district.
