Vaccine 'honor code'? Hospitals forced to get creative without enough shots for all front-line workers

As vaccinations roll out around the country, hospitals are grappling with how best to distribute the limited number of shots to their employees who work directly with patients.

UVA Health hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, plans to rely on "a very strong honor code" to allow staff members to decide where they should be in line after the original 3,000 doses are distributed. That plan was chosen over others, including a lottery similar to the chaotic birthday-based system depicted in the 2011 pandemic horror film "Contagion."
