President-elect Joe Biden is expected to nominate Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.N. ambassador and Jake Sullivan as national security adviser, multiple sources told NBC News. Thomas-Greenfield served as the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Africa under President Barack Obama from 2013 to 2017. Sullivan served in the Obama administration as national security adviser to then-Vice President Biden and director of policy planning at the U.S. Department of State, as well as deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. |
