Longtime "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek, adored by generations of trivia mavens, died on Sunday at the age of 80. The official "Jeopardy!" Twitter account confirmed the news. Trebek stunned fans of the high-minded game show last year when he announced he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was the face of "Jeopardy!" since 1984, and won five daytime Emmy Awards and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2011. |
