Paddlefish stocking is typically a two-week endeavor at Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery (Yankton, SD). Most years 50,000 to 100,000 10-12" fish have to be harvested from rearing ponds and trucked up to 200 miles to stocking sites on Missouri River reservoirs in South Dakota.
