The economy is showing signs of recovery. Many Black Americans are not.

Days before the election, President Donald Trump has doubled down on his claims of bringing the economy "roaring back to life" and promises of "epic job growth." But a rebounding GDP still leaves behind millions of Black Americans who not only have borne a disproportionate share of the pandemic's economic burden, but also are victims of longstanding inequality in the job market.

Experts and Black workers on the front lines say the U.S. needs to take a more aggressive approach to fixing racial injustice and not simply bring Black unemployment back to pre-pandemic levels.
