The Intermittent Legal Advisor (ILA) will work under the auspices of the United States Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, representing the Department of Justice and OPDAT in the implementation of the OPDAT Egypt justice sector assistance program. The ILA will develop capacity building programs and mentor justice sector personnel, with a focus on antiquities trafficking, money laundering and financial crimes, cybercrimes, and intellectual property rights violations. The ILA will work closely with the Egyptian Public Prosecutor's Office, regional prosecutors' offices nationwide and other government institutions, such as the Ministries of Justice and Antiquities and Tourism. The ILA will work on promoting the Egyptian investigators, prosecutors, and judges' understanding and application of the laws and tools available to address such crimes. Where necessary, the ILA will assist efforts to improve laws, procedures, and tools available to the Egyptians in compliance with international standards and norms.
