Workplace Mental Health PSA

The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and Alliance partner Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) produced a public service announcement (PSA) about the importance of supporting workplace mental health. Featuring trainers from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, and Milwaukee Brewers, the PSA highlights the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion's (EARN) Mental Health Toolkit and its "4 A's of a Mental Health-Friendly Workplace" – Awareness, Accommodations, Assistance, and Access.

CAPE-Youth

The Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth (CAPE-Youth) is an ODEP-funded policy development center focused on improving employment outcomes for youth and young adults with disabilities by helping states enhance their youth service delivery and workforce systems. Collaborators on CAPE-Youth include the Council of State Governments, the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability at Cornell University, and the Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Apprenticeship Webinar Archive

The Employment First Community of Practice hosted a webinar on "Inclusive Apprenticeship: The Future of Work." The webinar provided an overview of the Apprenticeship Inclusion Models (AIM) initiative sponsored by ODEP. Presenters from ODEP discussed how inclusive apprenticeship could help youth and adults with disabilities find well-paying careers in high-growth, high-demand fields, including information technology, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

New PEAT Podcast

The Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT) posted a new episode of its Future of Work podcast series on "Making Workplace Digital Communication Accessible." In the episode, Justin Herman, Global Head of Public Sector for Twilio, and Jessica Miller-Merrell, founder of Workology.com, examine the critical role emerging technologies play in making the workplace inclusive and accessible.

Solution Showcase Videos

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) added three Solution Showcase videos to its multimedia training microsite. Each video demonstrates various potential solutions for a job accommodation situation. The new videos focus on color coding, adjustable workstations, and ergonomic chairs. They join seven other Solution Showcase videos on topics including telephone amplification, smartpens, and alternative mice.

Campaign for Disability Employment Blog

The Campaign for Disability Employment (CDE) posted a guest blog from one of its founding members, the National Business and Disability Council (NBDC), on "Digital Accessibility: A Modern Workplace Must-Have." In the blog, NBDC discusses the importance of developing and providing accessible digital content to all employees, including websites, videos, training materials, timesheets, and other apps and programs that employees need to use. The blog outlines steps that employers can take to achieve these goals.
