Aug 03, 2020 BREAKING: Hurricane Isaias makes landfall in North Carolina, bringing dangerous winds and rainfall to East Coast Tropical Storm Isaias regained hurricane strength Monday night as it made landfall in North Carolina as a Category 1 storm, while forecasters warned of dangerous winds and storm surge it will bring. A hurricane warning was in place for a stretch of coast from the South Santee River in South Carolina to Surf City in North Carolina. The Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic regions were expected to see around 3 to 6 inches of rainfall, with isolated maximums of 8 inches, according to the hurricane center.
