***** PUBLICATION ADVISORY ***** BJS RELEASES PREA DATA-COLLECTION ACTIVITIES, 2020 WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics today released PREA Data-Collection Activities, 2020. This report, the tenth in a series that began in 2011, describes activities during 2019 and 2020 by BJS to collect data and report on the incidence and effects of prison rape, as required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA; P.L. 108-79). This report meets the PREA requirement to report on BJS's activities for the preceding calendar year by June 30 of each year.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics of the U.S. Department of Justice is the principal federal agency responsible for collecting, analyzing and disseminating reliable statistics on crime and criminal justice in the United States. Jeffrey H. Anderson is the director. | ||||||||||||||
