Analysis: The moment of enough: Black Americans are exhausted by everyday racism

In the parlance of the internet, the past week following the death of George Floyd has been a year. Just the recent roll call of tragedy is disturbingly long, and the constant need to anticipate and navigate white suspicion to avoid becoming a name on the list is exhausting.

But black Americans have grown tired of being forced to make the case for their citizenship, their humanity, their very survival — again and again and again.
