BREAKING: FDA uses emergency measures to allow use of drug remdesivir in coronavirus fight

The Food and Drug Administration has granted emergency use authorization for the drug remdesivir to treat the most severely ill COVID-19 patients. The announcement came during an Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump, HHS Secretary Alex Azar and FDA commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn. The drug is not a cure, but has been shown to help the sickest COVID-19 patients.
