The reported shipment comes following a phone conversation between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. U.S. equity markets tumbled at the opening bell on Wednesday following the White House's grim forecast of between 100,000 to 240,000 deaths in the U.S. from the virus. Prominent Democrats ranging from senior members of Congress to the party's likely presidential nominee, Joe Biden, suggest the coronavirus social distancing restrictions may lead to the cancellation of the Democratic National Convention in July. Meanwhile, federal authorities are warning that scammers are texting about offers of "goodies" from Costco, saying it's part of a coronavirus "stimulus package" for the store's "loyal customers." This, authorities say, is only part of a growing number of coronavirus-related ploys that have emerged in recent weeks. Wimbledon became the latest sporting event to be canceled amid the coronavirus epidemic. And Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., wants Congress to investigate allegations that the World Health Organization helped China cover up the severity of its coronavirus outbreak and failed to hold the Chinese government accountable.
