Following a three-day jury trial, Maurice Diggins, 36, of Biddeford, Maine, was convicted today of conspiring to commit hate crimes and of actually committing hate crimes by engaging in a series of racially motivated attacks against black men in Maine, announced Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband of the Civil Rights Division and U.S. Attorney Halsey B. Frank of the District of Maine.

Shawn Kendall Murray, of Gainesville, Virginia, has admitted to a drug charge, U.S. Attorney Bill Powell announced. Murray, age 37, pled guilty to one count of "Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Hydrochloride."
