I know we've heard a lot of bad news over the past few weeks. So I want to share this big announcement from the DNC:

Steven, you're a key stakeholder in our party, so I wanted you to be among the first to hear some exciting breaking news: The DNC just announced a significant expansion of Battleground Build-Up 2020 that will allow us to rapidly scale our efforts to hire the organizers we'll need to defeat Donald Trump and Republicans. This major investment will help accelerate the hiring pace for important positions in organizing, data, and operations across our critical 2020 battlegrounds. Simultaneously, it will transfer several former campaign field offices to Democratic state parties. This expansion comes at a time when it matters most -- ahead of the most crucial general election of our lifetimes. And while it is incredibly significant to furthering our cause, it only begins to level the playing field against Trump's massive war chest and organizing infrastructure that he's been building over these past three years. Long story short, we need your help, Steven. In addition to this latest expansion, here's what the DNC has made it our mission to accomplish so far through Battleground Build-Up 2020: Fund operations and data staff -- some of the most important, behind-the-scenes roles that allow a campaign to scale their organization quickly. Increase the number organizers across key states -- organizers on the ground early will engage in voter registration, build out massive volunteer operations, reach communities of color, and ensure that we've built the field operation our eventual nominee will heavily rely on to win. Expand the pathways for our eventual nominee to secure 270 electoral votes, while capitalizing on emerging defensive liabilities for the Trump campaign. Support Democrats at every level of the ballot. Georgia, New Hampshire, Texas, and Virginia have Senate races; state legislative races in Texas will help determine redistricting; and state Supreme Court seats are at stake in Ohio. I hope you're as eager as I am to continue this important work, because the time we have to get this done ahead of the general election is running out.
