As Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders square off in Mississippi, the electorate is shaping to have one of the highest proportions of African American voters in the Democratic primaries so far. According to early NBC News Exit Polls, black voters make up roughly two-thirds of those casting ballots in the Mississippi primary — which could give a boost to Biden, who has been running strong with African American voters. Other states voting tonight are Michigan, Idaho, Missouri, North Dakota and Washington.
