BREAKING: Sanders becomes first presidential candidate to cancel a rally because of coronavirus fears

Bernie Sanders on Tuesday canceled a large rally planned for Cleveland tonight because of fears of the coronavirus.

"We are heeding the public warnings from Ohio state officials, who have communicated concern about holding large, indoor events during the coronavirus outbreak," the campaign said in a statement.

Sanders is the first candidate to scrap an event, which has been planned for a convention center and was expected to draw thousands of supporters, because of the outbreak.
