Valentine's Day brings a bombardment of advice on how to "divorce-proof" your marriage, calling those marriages that end "failures." But that's an offensive and damaging approach, writes parenting podcaster Meagan Francis for NBC News THINK.

That projects a sense of blame – and shame – on divorced couples that only leads to more antagonism, Francis writes. Whether it ends in death or divorce, every marriage will end, and there are a lot of ways we can make that end more healthy and more humane.
