The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky is seeking applications from experienced litigators for an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) vacancy in the Bowling Green branch office. The attorney selected will be assigned to the Criminal Division, but may from time to time be required to represent the interests of the United States in civil matters and cases. Assistant United States Attorneys assigned to the Criminal Division prosecute federal criminal cases, such as fraud, public corruption, money laundering, immigration offenses, economic crime, narcotics offenses, firearms violations and violent crimes. Responsibilities include grand jury, trial, and appellate practices. The successful applicant will receive extensive Department of Justice training, including trial advocacy courses.
As needed, additional positions may be filled using this vacancy announcement.
All initial attorney appointments to the Department of Justice are made on a 14-month (temporary) basis pending favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
