Mendoza has sentenced brothers Salvatore Esposito (47, Orlando) and Joseph Esposito (43, Orlando) to federal prison terms for their roles in defrauding more than 150 victims out of more than $9.3 million in connection with the operation of their business, U.S. Coin Bullion LLC. Salvatore Esposito was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in federal prison, and Joseph Esposito was sentenced to 5 years and 11 months in federal prison. Both were also ordered to serve 3 years of supervised release and to pay more than $9.3 in restitution. The complaint also alleged that certain defendants fraudulently transferred assets after learning of the EPA claims in an effort to avoid payment of penalties in the case.
