Pratt Street, 6th Floor Baltimore, MD 21202 Description: The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants to serve as an Assistant Attorney to the Maryland Health Benefits Exchange. The Exchange is charged under State law and the federal Affordable Care Act with running Maryland's state-based health insurance exchange; with performing a critical role in the implementation of health care reform; and with expanding access to health care for all Marylanders. The Exchange certifies health plans offered by private insurance carriers for purchase through the Exchange; facilitates enrollment in such plans, as well as in the State's Medicaid program and Children's Health Insurance Program; and maintains a program to expand options for small businesses to obtain coverage for their employees. The Assistant Attorney General will advise the program on State procurement, IT procurement, inter-governmental agreements, compliance, and public information matters. In addition, the Assistant Attorney General will advise on major issues of federal and State law implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
