The MFCU is responsible for investigating and prosecuting criminal cases involving Medicaid fraud by providers and the abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults. The MFCU also investigates and files civil actions under the Maryland Health False Claims Act to recover damages for fraud against the Medicaid program. The MFCU works closely with State and federal law enforcement and health care partners, as well as other MFCUs across the country. The Senior Assistant Attorney General will supervise the general litigation team of attorneys.
