President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Iran "appears to be standing down" after its missile attack on U.S. targets in Iraq and the president vowed to keep up the pressure with new sanctions. Addressing the nation from the White House and flanked by U.S. uniformed generals, Trump said that no Americans were harmed in Iran's missile attack on Tuesday night against American personnel in Iraq. At one point during his remarks, Trump also spoke directly to Iran's leaders and citizens, saying that he wanted their country to prosper in partnership with the U.S. as long as it didn't pursue nuclear weapons and terror. |
