Today, the United States announced that it is challenging Virginia laws providing in-state tuition and financial assistance for illegal aliens. These laws unconstitutionally discriminate against U.S. citizens who are not afforded the same reduced tuition rates, scholarships, or subsidies, create incentives for illegal immigration, and reward illegal immigrants with benefits that U.S. citizens are not eligible for, all in direct conflict with federal law.

Hoje, os Estados Unidos estΓ£o aplicando sanΓ§Γ΅es a dez entidades e indivΓ­duos com sede no IrΓ£ e na Venezuela. Essas designaΓ§Γ΅es incluem uma empresa venezuelana que tem contribuΓ­do para a venda de milhΓ΅es de dΓ³lares em veΓ­culos aΓ©reos nΓ£o tripulados (Vants) de combate projetados pelo IrΓ£, e entidades e indivΓ­duos ligados a redes de aquisiΓ§Γ£o que tΓͺm apoiado os programas iranianos de Vants e de mΓ­sseis balΓ­sticos. O fornecimento contΓ­nuo de armas convencionais pelo IrΓ£ a Caracas representa uma ameaΓ§a aos interesses dos EUA em nossa regiΓ£o. 

A medida de hoje destaca a importΓ’ncia da reimposiΓ§Γ£o de sanΓ§Γ΅es e outras restriΓ§Γ΅es ao IrΓ£, de acordo com as resoluΓ§Γ΅es do Conselho de SeguranΓ§a da ONU. As entidades e os indivΓ­duos designados hoje demonstram que o IrΓ£ estΓ‘ ativamente proliferando seus Vants de combate e continua a adquirir itens relacionados a mΓ­sseis, em violaΓ§Γ£o Γ s restriΓ§Γ΅es da ONU.

Como o presidente Trump deixou claro no Memorando Presidencial de SeguranΓ§a Nacional 2 (NSPM-2), os Estados Unidos tomarΓ£o medidas visando restringir o programa de mΓ­sseis balΓ­sticos do IrΓ£, combater o desenvolvimento de outras capacidades de armas assimΓ©tricas e convencionais pelo IrΓ£, impedir que o IrΓ£ obtenha uma arma nuclear e negar Γ  Guarda RevolucionΓ‘ria IslΓ’mica (IRGC) o acesso a ativos e recursos que sustentam suas atividades desestabilizadoras. NΓ£o hesitaremos em responsabilizar qualquer pessoa que apoie as atividades de proliferaΓ§Γ£o de TeerΓ£.

As medidas do Departamento do Tesouro foram tomadas de acordo com o decreto do Executivo 13382, que tem como alvo proliferadores de armas de destruiΓ§Γ£o em massa e seus apoiadores, e o decreto do Executivo 13949, que visa bens de determinadas pessoas em relaΓ§Γ£o Γ s atividades de armas convencionais do IrΓ£.
