A key driver is concern that artificial intelligence (AI) tools could reshape the cybersecurity industry. Notably, Anthropic claims its new Mythos model can detect and exploit vulnerabilities more effectively than traditional systems. At the same time, AI in the hands of bad actors could make cybersecurity even more critical. Investors are wrestling with whether incumbents like CrowdStrike will benefit from these trends or be significantly disrupted by new tools.
