On July 15, 2021, from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. ET, join the U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office for the webinar "Idaho National Laboratory: Providing Access to High-Quality Education and Training by Increasing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in STEM." Speakers Michelle Bingham, Director of University Partnerships, and Jennifer Jackson, Program Manager K-12 STEM, of Idaho National Laboratory (INL) will provide an overview of how INL is implementing a workforce development and educational strategy that provides students with real-life work experiences where they can apply academic and technical skills.

INL's K-12 Education Program serves students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and provides equitable access to STEM learning and work-based learning opportunities for populations historically underrepresented in STEM education and careers. These include rural and remote, economically disadvantaged, and racial, ethnic, and gender minority students in Idaho.

From interns to postdoctoral researchers, INL's outreach team implements workforce planning and development strategies to enable successful careers for post-high school students. The goals are to foster a future energy workforce and educate INL's existing workforce as the United States moves into a new era in the deployment of clean energy technologies.
