Jan 31, 2020 BREAKING: U.S. ambassador at the center of impeachment saga retires from State Department Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, a central figure in President Donald Trump's impeachment investigation, retired from the State Department Friday after three decades in the foreign service, a person familiar with her plans confirmed. Yovanovitch testified in the House that her reputation was smeared by Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who seized on disinformation that she'd been badmouthing the president and blocking corruption investigations into the Bidens.
