DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Honors Peter F. Green

Peter Green Black History Month

Each February, the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy celebrates Black History Month and the tremendous positive impact of diversity on our mission, vision, accomplishments, and goals. For Black History Month 2020, EERE is focusing on diversity by honoring African American senior leadership across our office for their important contributions to the EERE mission.

Honoree Peter F. Green serves as deputy laboratory director for Science and Technology and chief research officer at NREL. He brings a scientific world of excellence to this position after 11 years at Sandia National Laboratory and 20 in academia at the University of Texas and the University of Michigan. He has earned honors and recognition at each stop along the way, and his leadership in science and education has benefited not only his students and colleagues but the nation as a whole.
